Mark Barnes & Janelle Matuszak Join Esteemed Group of Presenters for Sterling Education’s Workers’ Compensation Law & Practice Seminar

On Tuesday, October 18, 2016, from 8:30a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Sterling Education will present “Workers’ Compensation Law & Practice Seminar” at the Radisson Hotel at the University of Toledo, 3100 Glendale Ave, Toledo, OH. Janelle Matuszak will give a legislative update as well as discuss a variety of workers’ compensation topics including: general principles, risk types, practice tips for permanent and total disabilities, vocational rehabilitation benefits, psychological injuries, scheduled injuries, average weekly wage (AWW), medical care, litigation procedures. Mark Barnes will take the seminar attendees through the application of exclusive remedy of workers’ compensation, an overview of the course of a workers’ compensation claim, related remedies outside the comp system, statute of limitations, employee and independent contractor status, and more. Dr. Donato J. Borrillo will discuss loss of use and return to work issues. Industrial Commission Hearing Administrator Scott Hines will present the View from the Industrial Commission.
