The United States Supreme Court’s decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, legalizing same sex marriage, is now well known. Bugbee & Conkle’s annual Employment Law seminar, scheduled for October 1, 2015, will include consideration of the impact of this decision on a number of different employment laws, including the FMLA, ERISA, the ADAAA, and Ohio’s workers’ compensation laws, just to mention a few. Registration for the seminar will begin in mid-July.

Iron Tiger Logistics, the Second Appellate District Court addressed the critical element of compensability concerning causal relationship to employment. Lafon worked as a “yard man” at Iron Tiger Logistics where new trucks are transported to various locations nationwide. He was responsible for moving trucks to their ready position and then moving finished products to their assigned places in the yard.
