We are sad to announce that U.S. District Court Judge David Katz passed away on Tuesday, July 26th at Hospice in Sylvania. Judge Katz was a fair and respected federal judge for over 20 years. He was reported to have waged a courageous battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He will be missed. Judge Katz had been on senior status since 2005.Read more

Court Of Appeals Finds Abandonment from Job Market Bars TTD Compensation
In State ex rel. Andrasi v. Indus Comm., 2016-Ohio-4971, the 10th District Court of Appeals found the claimant’s abandonment of the workforce barred his receipt of temporary total disability compensation.
The claimant had an allowed claim for which he had received various forms of compensation since 1991.
The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) announced that it is delaying enforcement of the new anti-retaliation rule. As we reported previously, the new anti-retaliation rule is set forth in 29 CFR 1904.35 and originally was planned to become effective August 10, 2016. OSHA announced that enforcement of the new anti-retaliation rule will be delayed until November 1, 2016.Read more
