AMA Says Obesity a Disease

The American Medical Association recently voted to recognize obesity as a disease because of America’s “obesity epidemic.”  Obesity, which is a measure of body weight and height, is associated with a variety of health issues and diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and some cancers.  It remains unclear what impact, if any, the AMA’s recognition of obesity as a disease will have on workers’ compensation and employment matters in Ohio.  Click here for an article published by CBS News on this story.
