Carolyn Davis and Janelle Matuszak Discussed Internal Investigations at the Employer’s Association

Promptly conducting effective internal investigations is your primary defense against expensive litigation and liability.  Ms. Davis and Ms. Matuszak discussed various types of situations that necessitate an investigation, and the step-by-step process that addresses not only the underlying safety, harassment, discrimination or other issue, but also, prepares against possible litigation. They also discussed common types of investigations, organizing and preparing common elements of an investigation, special investigations (including pre-employment screenings, OSHA inspections, workplace injuries, and unemployment), social media implications, ADA and accommodation requests, employer responsibilities and liability pitfalls, and employee rights.
