As previously reported, on August 15, 2016 the Industrial Commission’s former Hearing Officer Manual was revised and renamed “Adjudications Before the Ohio Industrial Commission”. Read about the changes found in the Adjudications Before the OIC here.
Ohio Supreme Court Affirms Fraud and Overpayment Findings in Business Owner Case
In State ex rel. Perez v. Industrial Commission, 2016-Ohio-5084 (Ohio, July 26, 2016), the Supreme Court of Ohio found a business owner receiving temporary total disability compensation (TTD) guilty of workers’ compensation fraud and TTD overpayment. Ohio Medical Marijuana Law and Workers’ Compensation Statutes
Ohio’s medical marijuana law became effective September 8, 2016. As a practical matter, employers should be able to continue with drug policies in the same manner they did before the law became effective. Read more about Ohio’s new medical marijuana law’s effect on workers’ compensation here.
