The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has proposed a 2.1% base rate reduction for private employers for the 2014 policy year beginning July 1, 2013. This will provide an estimated savings of $29 million. If approved, the new rates would mark the third year in a row that workers’ compensation rates have remained steady or dropped. Rates will vary for individual employers based on factors such as industry, claim history and participation in discount and savings programs.
