Scott Mugno’s Nomination for OSHA Administrator Is Back Before the Senate

Due to Senate rules, the President’s nomination of Scott Mugno for the Assistant Secretary of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health, has now been returned to the Senate for consideration.  Mr. Mugno’s nomination to head OSHA was previously approved by Senate Committee on December 13, 2017, but it was not put to the full senate vote by the end of the year.  Therefore, the entire nominating process must now start all over again.  Accordingly, Mr. Mugno’s nomination is back before the Senate Committee on Health, Education and Labor for another vote recommending that his appointment proceed to a full Senate vote.  Mr. Mugno has worked for FedEx since 1994 and is currently in charge of safety, sustainability and vehicle maintenance.  He also has a legal and military background.
