OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to Increase Awareness of Fall Hazards and Fall Prevention

From May 4 to May 15, thousands of companies will stop work and discuss safety procedures and “fall hazards and fall prevention”.  Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be the leading cause of death for constructions workers.  Last year’s Stand Down was a great success and OSHA’s goal for 2015 is to touch 4 out of 10 construction workers in the country.  OSHA is partnering with key groups to assist with National Safety Stand-Down including NIOSH, the Center for Construction Research and Training, the American Society of Safety Engineers, the National Safety Council, the Nation Construction Safety Executives, and other organizations.  A new promotional video  is now available.
